Replacing your water-cooled air conditioner.
If you have a water-cooled cooling system, you will need to, or may already need to, replace it, since several cities are adopting new regulations to ban its use. Only air-based systems will be permitted. For example, the City of Saint-Lambert adopted the new regulation as of April 24, 2018, while the City of Montreal's By-law 13-023 has been in effect since January 1, 2018.
All these new regulations on water-cooled air conditioning are being adopted to comply with the Government of Quebec's Quebec strategy for drinking water conservation.
By switching from a water-based system to an air-based system, you will save a great deal on your water-usage bill and waste less drinking water. Indeed, cooling systems that use drinking water use a lot of it and can cost you a great deal on your water-usage bill.
